Proteins and nucleic acids assignment 3

It was a disappointing turnout for the first Quiz. Only 14 of 21 quizzes were sent back to me. Some were not that great for an open book assignment. Some did a fine job too. I hope people realize it is an open book assignment, but copying from other people is not allowed. It is obvious when people answer exactly, getting the same wrong answers that make no sense, so please do your own work.
This assignment should take a few hours to read, make 21 flash cards, and then research the questions. You must put some time into it. A quiz will be posted later. Try to memorize all the flash cards over the summer as you make them, this is key to being well prepared for the coming year and will actually make it easier.
Here is the next assignment.
Read the rest of chapter 5 on proteins and nucleic acids. Make flash cards for the following:pg 82-83
primary structure of a protein/define and give an example
secondary structure of a protein/define and give an example
tertiary structure of a protein/define and give an example
quaternary structure of a protein/define and give an example
pg 78 table 5-1 ( 8 cards): make a card for each type of protien function/and example

the general structure of an amino acid/ amino group, central carbon, carboxyl group, and an r chain

pg 79
the structure of glycine/ same as above but r chain is Hydrogen (simplest amino acid)
structure and example of a nonpolar amino acid/ it has C's and H's only like glycine
Structure and example of polar amino acid/ it has S or N or O like cystiene
Structure and example of acidic or negative amino acid/ has COOH like aspartic acid
Structure and example of basic or positive amino acid/ has NH3 like lysine

Structure of a nucleotide
structure of DNA
Structure of RNA
