genetics

I know it's Superbowl Sunday so get your work done early! This is your last weekend to study before the test next week.
Here are some resources to help you with learning the concepts of genetics!
The one listed as 'Genetics problem set with explanations' goes through all of the types of inheritance patterns you will see on the test, and explains how to solve them if you can't.
The Chi square test will help you with how to evaluate the crosses and determine if the numbers you get on the experimental crosses of fruit flies, corn or fast plants are reasonably close to your hypothesis of a phenotypic ratio( ex 3:1 or 9:3:3:1).
The Genetics set 1 shows you how to set up punnett squares.
You should have already finished the lab write up in your lab notebook on the mitosis and meiosis lab. Someone asked me about hypotheses for these labs and I said one had to do with the text stating that Metaphase takes longer, so perhaps the frequency of seeing each phase under the microscope has something to do with the length of time each phase takes.
Also, The greater the number of recombinants during meiosis the further apart two genes are on the chromososme. You can put them into hypothesis form.
I would expect a quiz on Monday.
Thanks to your parents for showing up on AP night.
Thanks to the students that represented our class and all the wonderful things that were said about how challenging the class was, and the positive statements about me and how you learn so much in the class.
