sorry

Sorry, I lost internet access at home and have been too jammed up during the holidays and end of the grading period to post all work. Great job on first trimester!

Notes for chapter 17 on gene expression/protein synthesis are due by Wednesday. The cellular respiration lab and the mitosis lab should be completed soon as we they will be graded before the Christmas break.

I have provided image pages for all the steps of DNA replication and protein synthesis for your convenience. We used Sickle cell anemia to kick off the new chapter on gene expression. You should be clear about how the mutation causes the disease, how the disease works, and what is meant by heterozygous advantage in respects to malarial infection. Ask yourself why the disease does not dissappear over time, when being homozygous recessive for the disease is so devastating.

There will be a quiz on protein sythesis on Thursday.
There are two labs associated with this chapter...DNA electrophoresis, and bacterial transformation. We will do the transformation lab on the next lab block. Prepare your notebooks with obj, research terms and hypothesis.
