Chapter 4 is about organic chemistry. Know the Stanley Miller experiment and how it showed how the early conditions on Earth may have resulted in simple monomers necessary to make polymers from. Which ones were formed? also look on 508-509 for the alternative hypothesis. What are structural isomers? example is? What are geometric isomers? example is? Know the functional groups found on molecules and their names (summer work) on pg 64,65 I will quiz you on them Memorize the structure of ATP it is an adenine nucleotide with 2 extra phosphates. Also review the transpiration lab on lab bench main link in the student resources. We will do this lab next week. rd pg 775-778 on transpiration and know how water gets through a plant, and what tissues are involved, and how the properties of water are involved.
